Six Weeks of Dulcimer Lessons -
This annual event begins at the end of January and goes through the beginning of March. In 2010, the last of the six lessons will be held in last week of March. ( Note: current year last lessons will be from March 22nd to March 29th ) Lessons are given at the Museum for East Texas Culture from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and they're taught by Margaret Wright of the Old Time Music and Dulcimer Festival. Dogwood Trails Festival -
Every March in Palestine, Texas you can experience the Dogwood Trails Festival, which features arts and crafts, car show, bike ride, dulcimer music presentations, and flower show. In 2011, the festival gets underway on March 18th. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. and the Dogwood Trails Downtown Celebration parade begins at 10:00 a.m. Dogwood trees bloom for 3 weeks, starting from 3rd week of March to the 1st week in April.
